Statement
Nouadhibou, 11/24/2023
This morning, around 2:45 a.m., the head of the last ore train, loaded at Zouerate, on November 23 (M10), derailed (left the railway), at the entrance to the central point station in Nouadhibou, without human damage. The first assessment carried out on site estimates that the material damage would be limited to 3 wagons.
While awaiting the results of the investigations carried out immediately to determine the causes of the derailment, the work teams from the Railway and Port Direction are already hard at work to restore train circulation. They estimate, based on initial findings, the resumption of traffic today, from 7 p.m.
