The SNIM foundation distributes 100 food baskets for the benefit of retirees and widows of former workers of the company in Zouerate
On Saturday morning, the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, the SNIM Foundation handed over 100 food baskets for the benefit of the retirees and widows of former workers of the company in Zouerate.
The representative of SNIM Foundation in the city of Zouerate, Mr. Ahmed Ould Levrak, told the Mauritanian news agency that the Foundation carries out this food distribution every year during the holy month of Ramadan, noting that the number of beneficiaries of these food baskets reached 100 people this year, including 52 SNIM retirees and 48 widows of former company workers.
He added that each basket consists of 50 kg of sugar, 50 kg of rice, 10 kg of pastas, 5 liters of cooking oil, 2 kg of tea and 5 kg of milk powder.
The president of the SNIM pensioners' bureau, Mr. Brahim Ould Weyssat, praised this generous gesture on the part of the SNIM Foundation during this holy month of Ramadan.
On the other hand, SNIM pensioners’ communication officer thanked His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ould El Ghazouani, for having increased the retirees’ pensions and praised the assistance granted by SNIM Foundation for the benefit of pensioners and widows of former employees of the company.
The distribution of these food baskets took place in the presence of Mohamed Abdelvettah Ould Ahmed, director of the Wali cabinet of Tiris Zemmour, the Hakem of the mughataa of Zouerate, Mohamed Mahmoud Mohamed Abdallah, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Zouerate, Mr. Boba Ould Abbas, SNIM Development Department’s Chief Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Lemrabott and the President of the Forum of Civil Society Organizations in the Wilaya, Mr. Sid'Ahmed Ould Lahah.
